Leslie’s inspiration for the story came one day while snacking on popcorn — “the idea literally popped into my head!” She set out to write and illustrate a book that would entertain and affirm children, especially her three grandchildren, who lovingly helped shape the story and art. The result has quickly become a beloved bedtime favorite during family sleepovers.
Though aimed primarily at children ages 3 to 7, Just The Way That You Are has also touched readers of all ages.
